Connor's first time Bearing his Testimony

Today in church we had fast and testimony meeting because of Stake Conference next weekend. The first few people bore their testimonies and Connor decided that it was his turn to talk. I am sad to say that it has been years since I have bore my testimony in Sacrament, I do not enjoy public speaking and getting up in front of people without flash cards to direct me terrifies me. Donovan feels the same way although before speaking in Sacrament a couple of months ago he had never stood up and spoke in church, or bore is testimony. So we spent the next 30 minutes saying to each other no you go with him. As we are going back and forth every couple of minutes Connor is yelling he wants to talk and that he waited his turn, of course loud enough that most of the chapel was hearing his protests. I am ashamed to tell of how awful of a mom I am for not jumping at this opportunity. With 5 minutes left of Sacrament Donovan walked out little boy up to the front of the Chapel. Connor got right up to the microphone and started with " I love my birthday, I like to bear my testimony, I love my family, I love church, I love my Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Amen" Donovan helped with only a few words of Connor's testimony it truly was from his heart. I am so grateful for Donovan and the man that he is, I am so grateful to have a worthy priesthood holder to lead and direct our home. As I sat watching my little boy and husband my eyes filled with tears, I am so proud of Connor and I hope that he will continue to love and cherish the gospel. I am reminded of the innocence of children. Connor had no fears as he proudly walked to the front of the chapel, his testimony was sweet and from the heart, no fancy words just the basics, it's in these moments that I learn so much from my son, and I thank the Lord every day for the blessing and example that he is in our lives. I pray daily that I can be a better Mom and take these sweet examples and allow them to strengthen my testimony, hoping that I one day can have the innocence and strength of my child.

Ear Tubes

The last couple of weeks we have made a few trips to the doctor's offices. Connor started complaining that his left ear hurt, and if we touched it or bumped it he would say that it hurts. While I was working Donovan took Connor to the pediatrician's office. The oncall doctor said that his ears and tubes looked fine. I new that we had an appointment with Dr. Bean the next week so I thought I would ask her. Dr. Bean said that both tubes were displaced and putting pressure on his eardrum and that is why it was bothering him. Of course she was not going to pull them out we would have to go to Connor's ENT. I called that afternoon and got Connor an appoinment for the next day. So off to the ENT we went, he looked at his tubes confirmed what Dr. Bean said and sent us home with ear drops to soften the wax surrounding the tubes. After 4 days of drops we headed back to the ENT. I talked with Connor numerous times in that 4 days to tell him that they were going to look in his ears again and take his tubes out, we explained that it might hurt but if he was so brave and let them take the tubes out he could go to Target and pick a toy. I know amazing Mom I totally used bribery. So the PA took out the right tube first Connor was so good and held really still, he didn't complain that it hurt, but when the PA went to take out left tube he told him NO. So the PA looked at me and said it looks like he isn't going to let me take out the left tube you might need to go up to Primary's and have them put him under to get the left tube. Seriously I was so mad who lets a 3 year old tell them what to do, I asked if I could just hold him, he said no, I tried convince Connor to let him take out the left tube but he refused. I finally convinced the PA to let us come back another day and try again. Again not another proud parenting moment but hey, on the way to the car I explained to Connor that we were not going to go to Target and get a toy because we had to use toy money to come back to the doctor next week to get the left tube out. Okay I know it sounds awful but Connor does better when you explain things to him. As I was getting Connor in his car seat he begged me to go back and get the doctor to get the left tube out, after we talked for a couple minutes we headed back inside to see if they would try again. Thankfully they let us back in the same room, I gave Connor a sucker and let him watch tractors on my phone and he laughed as the PA took out the left tube. Finally we are free of both tubes and Connor picked out a new Tractor at Target. So after 2 weeks and multiple trips and co pays at the doctors our tube fiasco is over.

Connor's 3 Year Stats

Today we went to the Doctor's office for Connor's 3 year appointment

Height: 41.5 inches (110th percentile)

Weight: 36.6 lbs ( 80th percentile)

Of course this boy is off the charts. I adore our pediatrician Dr. Bean she does such a great job with Connor I just wished he would listen to me as well as he listens to her. Connor is growing so fast I wish I could just slow the process. Connor loves all things boy, tractors, trucks, and cars, but he also loves to read, sing, and go to kindermusic, Connor also loves to help me cook in the kitchen and help me clean the house on his terms of course. I can not believe it has been 3 years. Some of Connor's favorite sayings include: "Mom I told you, you can't say no", " that would be perfect" "love you too honey" "stop the attitude Mom or Dad", " I told you not to do that" can you see the trend this little man copies everything we say, it is hard not to laugh but he sure has attitude.

Planet Play

This weekend we were suppose to head to the cabin to go snowmobiling with our friends the McEnaney's. Unfortunately we have no snow so we planned a fun weekend around the valley. We started off with Planet Play in Draper, we found a great deal on Groupon. The kids had a lot of fun playing arcades, riding go-carts, bowling, miniature golf, and endless pizza, pasta, and salad bar. Connor bowling

This was Connors favorite game the seat would twist and turn, blow air and vibrate, I think they did this game 3 or 4 times.

After a fun filled day my Mom watched the kids and we went out on a date. It was so nice to go and eat and enjoy time with great friends. The next day (Saturday) we met up again and went to the Jump and Bounce and then dinner at Costa Vida. It was a great weekend filled with fun activities.

New Friends at the Zoo

Today we went to the Zoo with my friend Karalee and her daughter Abby. It was such a great day to go to the zoo. It was cold but there was hardly anyone there and all of the animals were out and moving around. We had such fun morning I think this is the best trip to the zoo we have had.
Abby was so good to sit for pictures Connor on the other hand this was the best picture that I could get he can be such a little stinker
This was the first time Connor and Abby have played together, it was a lot of fun, we look forward to the next play date!

Connor's Birthday Party

Growing up I remember birthday's being a big deal we always had a family party and a day full of fun special events. I love to make a big deal out of Connor's Birthday, this year was no different we had a great party with lots of family and friends, I am usually exhausted but it is well worth it for our sweet boy, hey you only turn 3 once. This year Connor wanted his party to be full of tractors so that is what he got. Every year I have great ideas on Connor's cake and I go through large amounts of cake mixes trying to get my ideas to actually turn out. This year was no different I spent many hours practicing and baking, but I do have to say I think this is my best cake this far. Connor loved his cake we had to lock the fridge so he wouldn't put his finger in the frosting or try and take the tractors. The table decorations for the kids. I am so grateful for my Mom and Lori they did such a great job helping me decorate for the party. The kids had a blast with the tractor pinata

Finally we let him have the tractors off the cake

Opening presents

Connor was definitely spoiled this year for his birthday just like every other year, the party turned out great.

Happy Birthday sweet boy we love you.

Happy New Year

Every year for New Years our friends the Madson come to visit and we either have a party at Aunt Lori and Uncle Anthony's or our house. This year we went to Anthony and Lori's house. We had so much fun buying noise makers, confetti and new years goodies for the kids. All the adults enjoyed the festivities as well. We had such a great night, the neighbors probably thought we were crazy since we rang in the New Year at 10pm with the kids. We spent the rest of the night playing cards and enjoying good company!

Happy New Year!!!
