Daddy's Little Man

Donovan and I both work really hard to give me the opportunity to be home the majority of the time to raise Connor and with that I am able to go and do lots of fun things during the day, and Donovan unfortunately does not get to go with us. So a few days ago we all went together to the Jump N Bounce down the street from our house. It was such a blast and Connor had a great time showing his Daddy all that he could do Donovan and Connor getting ready to go down one of the slidesMore Slides

Connor worn out from all of the jumping and sliding fun

I had to put this picture in this blog, Donovan has taught Connor how to use his elk call so that he can go hunting with Daddy, so I had the great pleasure of listening to Connor call all of the elk around the house

Connor's New Bed

Since Connor decided a couple of months ago that he would start getting out of his crib, I have been looking for a new bedroom set for his room and also a new theme since the crib bedding is gone. We did buy a convertible crib which worked great while we were looking but it was not as sturdy as other bed frames. Finally I found this bed at Ikea and we have been waiting for a month for them to finally get it in stock. So Donovan and I went and got the bed and the next morning my mom came over and we put the bed together. I still have so things to get for Connor's room but this is a huge dent in the project.
Connor breaking in the new bed

I do have to say that Connor does have lots of room on his new bed, but I did not want to have to buy a new bed every few years as he grows and he is getting big so quickly, before we know it Connor will grow into his new bed.

Playing with Connor

Connor begs to go downstairs into the basement every day, he loves to play down there, and one of his favorite things to do is turn on the treadmill and ride it over and over again
My future basketball player if Connor is going to be 6'4 or 6'6 he needs to definitely be able to shoot a ball, he is getting pretty good at making baskets and as time goes on he gets further and further from the basket

Connor drives his car around and around our kitchen, and he has to have something to drink while he is driving, it is funny the things he picks up on from us it just goes to show you have to be careful what you do and say around a 2 year old, when he backs up he puts his arm over the seat and looks out the back to make sure nothing is behind him.

Green Bay Packers Family

We went to my parents house to watch the play-offs Packers vs. Eagles, it was a blast and of course we had to dress Connor in his Packers outfit despite what Donovan had to say. Connors Grandma and Grandpa Tresner brought back this outfit from the Packers game in Wisconsin last year.

The Aquarium

My sister had the day off and we took Connor to the Aquarium for the first time. We had lots of fun looking at all of the fish and Connor even found one of his favorite fish Nemo!!!
Connor loved to watch the penguins he would have stayed there all day if we let him, and he had to tell his Aunt Charity all about them

We all had a fun time at the aquarium, Connor did love looking at all of the fish but his favorite part was playing in the water with the sting rays and then getting to wash his hands at the wash station, all in all a great day with Aunt Charity

The Cabin 2011

Over the New Years weekend we went up to Donovan's parents cabin in Fairview it started out good got bad really quickly and then ended well, this was the first picture we took of Connor while we were packing the snowmobiles to head up to the cabin. We started our trek up the mountain everything was going well until we were about a mile from the cabin, the snow was deep and most of the trail was groomed by a snowcat so we didn't have a problem but then we came upon 6 feet of snow that had not been touched by anyone, we made a turn and tried to head a different road to the cabin. Connor and I got off the snowmobile while Donovan tried to go down the hill to check out the trail, my sister-in-law and her husband and their little girl Mallory were also with us and then stayed up the top of the hill with Connor and I. Not to far down the hill Donovan got the snowmobile stuck, we thought maybe we could walk to the cabin but with every step we sunk in the snow up to our waists and there was no way I could carry Connor through all that snow. Brian decided he would also try the trail down to the cabin and then got that snowmobile stuck. So here we were stuck and stranded in the freezing cold with 2 screaming kids. The boys kept trying to get the snowmobiles unstuck, while my in laws tried to call for the snowcat to come and get us. Connor and I stayed put at the top of the hill, after a couple of hours passed and with many prayers and phone-calls back and forth 2 men on snowmobiles found me and Connor at the top of the hill they rode the trail a few times trying to make a trail so we could get to the cabin, finally they loaded Connor and me on one of the snowmobiles and got us safely to the warm cabin, they then went back to get everyone else and about that same time the snowcat found the others and got everyone else to the cabin safely they then helped get all of the snowmobiles unstuck and the snowcat groomed a trail to the cabin so we could all get out safely. We spent the rest of the night around the fireplace getting warm. We are so thankful for the kindness of two strangers who stopped to help and also the prayers of our family that helped us all get to the cabin safely. After a safe night in the cabin we decided to go out and play in the snow the next morning, Connor loves the snow and had such a blast it was a beautiful sunny day.

Connor loved riding the snowmobile he was upset that we had stopped to go sledding down the hill, all he wanted to do was ride

The trip to the cabin was definitely and adventure this year but in the end we were all safe and had a fun day in the snow
