Let the Christmas Festivities Begin

The Christmas Season is my favorite time of year. I love everything to do with Christmas. Every year after Thanksgiving we put up the Christmas decorations and tree. It was such a fun morning decorating and watching Christmas movies. I hope that through this Holiday season I can show Connor the true meaning of Christmas.Connor helping us put up the Christmas Tree This year Connor loved to put the ornaments on the tree sometimes it takes all I have to not rearrange them especially since the ornaments are mostly were Connor could reach.

When I was growing up we lived in Oregon and my grandparents had 10 acres of Christmas Trees, so we always would go to the farm and pick out a tree for the family and I would always get a small tree for my room. It has been really hard to not have a real Christmas tree in the house. Donovan never remembers having a real tree so he is just fine with having a fake tree. We have argued this concept of real vs fake for the last few years, but now that Connor is getting older I really want him to be able to go and pick a Christmas tree and cherish some of the same memories I had as a child. So I think a couple weeks before Christmas we will go and get a real tree and let Connor decorate it how he wants. I hope my idea will work out and we will see if this will be a tradition we continue.

I am usually really good at taking pictures, like Donovan says I am a little picture crazy, but this year at Thanksgiving this is the only picture I took all day. I would like to think I can blame it on the fact that this year for work my holiday was Thanksgiving. We pick our holiday hours in order of senority I got 11pm-11am starting the night before Thanksgiving this was what I thought a perfect schedule do all 12 hours at a time and I would still be able to have the rest of the day off, but I forgot the little thing called sleep. Every year I make the rolls for Thanksgiving dinner, it is a specific recipe and it is all from scratch so it is about a 3 hour process I did not calculate this little fact into my plan. It was a really busy night at work and I got home around 1230pm just enough time to start the rolls and then be to dinner by 3pm. So the moral of the story no sleep for me for over a 36 hour period equals no Thanksgiving pictures. I do have to say that I am so blessed that Donovan was willing to help with the rolls so I did lay down for about an hour. I am also lucky that we do not have to do both families on Thanksgiving day. My family decided that since my sister and I usually have to work on Thanksgiving and trying to get everyone together at the same time we would do the Tresner family Thanksgiving on Friday which is perfect even if I have to work the Thanksgiving holiday I will always get to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner and Donovan loves it he gets Thanksgiving dinner twice. This Thanksgiving was great we enjoyed both days of spending lots of time with family. I am so blessed and thankful for my family and the relationship we have.
Happy Thanksgiving

Playing in the Snow

Connor has been begging to go outside and make a snowman, so we finally had a enough snow to go outside and play. Connor loved every minute and we had to drag him inside to eat lunch he would have stayed outside for hours

This boy loves the snow he just laughed and laughed when he landed face first into a pile of snow

Throwing snow at Daddy

Even Sky could not escape the snowballs.

It was such a fun family morning playing in the snow!

These are the Moments

To me the journey of being a mom is much like a roller coaster there are good days where I think okay I am doing an okay job, and then there are days that I think that I am the worst mom, and hopefully Connor will somehow turn out okay. For me this last week has been one of those weeks were it just seems like being a good mom is not in my deck of cards. Then as I was laying Connor down for his nap yesterday I went to walk out of the room and he said " Wait Mom I can't go to sleep we haven't said our prayers" I wanted to cry and smile at the same time because in that moment I felt like a great Mom that is making a difference to my sweet, sweet little boy.

Family Pictures

This last Saturday the 29th we had our friends at Bates Photography take our family pictures. They turned out amazing. Connor was really good I was pleasantly surprised, although it could have been because we told him if he listened and smiled that we would go to Target and buy him a new tractor. I have to admit it was worth every penny for that tractor!

Update on Connor and Nursery

Connor is doing so well at church he now loves nursery we no longer have major meltdowns as we are leaving to church. Connor is excited to go to Church and play with his friends I do not even have to walk into the room to drop him off, he sprints for the door yelling bye Mom and Dad. I am so thankful for the leaders in nursery that have been willing to help Connor they truly have made the difference.

Here Comes the Snow

This weekend was the first snow fall of the season. Today Connor insisted on going outside to play in the snow and make a snowman. The only problem is we need to buy Connor a new winter coat so we could not let him play outside very long
