Nursery at church has been a struggle for Connor, I was truly surprised when he reached 18 months that he would not leave my side and hated going to nursery. So as time has progressed we have tried many different tactics to get Connor to go to Nursery, including bringing things from home like a favorite toy or blanket but none of these things helped he still would scream until we they brought him to us, which was right outside the door, he only lasted about 1 minute before he ran to the door and usually got it open before the Nursery leader would see him. Well now Connor is almost 3 and finally we have had success. Although the funny thing is when he sees us put church clothes on he whine and cries and tells us that we just went to church, he does not want to go, and he can stay home by himself. I had no clue that we would have to tackle these responses so early in life. But I can say that this week Connor walked into Church himself, and walked straight to the nursery door and walked in and stayed the whole 2 hours not crying or asking for us once. It truly is a miracle and I am so thankful for the new Leaders that have been willing to help us out and get Connor comfortable with going to Nursery . The couple that teaches Nursery have really helped make Connor feel comfortable. They always greet him with a smile and welcome him into their arms. Connor is unfortunately stubborn like his parents but once he got comfortable he is doing a lot better. I hope that Connor will continue to go to Nursery only time will tell.
