Craft Night

Tonight we had craft night with Nana and Aunt Charity. Connor loved painting and he really did well we were there for a couple of hours and he did great. Connor was so excited about the blocks he painted Connor showing me the paint on his face and hands

Connor painting his block

These are 3 of the 4 blocks Connor painted, I helped him peel off the vinyl but other than that he painted them without any help, he really did a great job and these blocks will be proudly displayed in his room.

Donut Falls Hike

Today we took a family hike to Donut Falls, it was a beautiful hike we all enjoyed spending family time in the mountains, these are the moments that I miss living in the mountains Connor getting some water on the hike

Donovan and Connor at the bottom of the falls. I absolutely love this backpack it is great for when Connor gets tired of hiking

Of course Connor wanted to walk down the falls himself, he finally agreed to hold our handsConnor inspecting all of the different rocks at the bottom of the falls

Connor and Nana enjoying the bridge

Connor wanted to collect pine cones and of course take some home, luckily I convinced him that they wanted to stay in the mountains with their friends :-)

We had such a nice leisurely hike it was a great family activity and perfect weather I love being able to spend quality time as a family enjoying the beautiful mountains

Nursery Sunday

Nursery at church has been a struggle for Connor, I was truly surprised when he reached 18 months that he would not leave my side and hated going to nursery. So as time has progressed we have tried many different tactics to get Connor to go to Nursery, including bringing things from home like a favorite toy or blanket but none of these things helped he still would scream until we they brought him to us, which was right outside the door, he only lasted about 1 minute before he ran to the door and usually got it open before the Nursery leader would see him. Well now Connor is almost 3 and finally we have had success. Although the funny thing is when he sees us put church clothes on he whine and cries and tells us that we just went to church, he does not want to go, and he can stay home by himself. I had no clue that we would have to tackle these responses so early in life. But I can say that this week Connor walked into Church himself, and walked straight to the nursery door and walked in and stayed the whole 2 hours not crying or asking for us once. It truly is a miracle and I am so thankful for the new Leaders that have been willing to help us out and get Connor comfortable with going to Nursery . The couple that teaches Nursery have really helped make Connor feel comfortable. They always greet him with a smile and welcome him into their arms. Connor is unfortunately stubborn like his parents but once he got comfortable he is doing a lot better. I hope that Connor will continue to go to Nursery only time will tell.
