The Cabin

This weekend was one of those weekends when we just needed to get away. I forgot I haven't told the story of the cabin so here we go.
Donovan's parents own a cabin in Fairview, Ut they have had the cabin since Donovan was around 11 years old. Donovan has grown up playing at the cabin he loves it and has always looked forward to spending lots of time with Connor at the cabin. A few months ago in May Donovan got the call from his parents that he cabin had burned down. It was completely gone there was nothing left. It was such a sad day. Donovan's parents decided that they would rebuild the cabin on the same property. They started building the new cabin a couple of months ago. This weekend we drove down to the cabin to see the progress it is looking really good. Connor loves to be outdoors, he loves to do anything outside especially in the mountains  so he was really excited to load up the 4-wheeler and head to the cabin. Terry and Shella have a trailer that they parked at the bottom of the resort so they can go and stay and make decisions about the cabin, so we stayed in the trailer for the night. It was so much fun to be outside enjoying these beautiful fall colors. We really needed a break away and this trip was just what our little family needed. Connor keeps asking if we can go live in the trailer, he is so cute, he truly loves the outdoors.
Connor ready to go on our night ride.
Papa  bought Connor this flashlight the other day and he has not let it out of his sight for days.

Building Forts

This afternoon Connor made a fort the idea was all his own after it fell down a couple times we helped him put it back but he mostly did it all on his own.  We all had fun playing in his fort!

Love this boy!

McGruff the Crime Dog

Today while we were out running errands we drove past this safety fair. Connor loves fire trucks so we stopped for a minute so he could see inside the fire truck. McGruff the crime dog came over to say hi. Connor had fun looking at all of the buttons and levers inside the fire truck.

Horseback Riding

My sweet friend from work Cherelle offered to let us come to her house and let the kids play and ride horses. We finally found a day that worked for all of us. Dara, Azlyn and Liam joined us for the fun. We had such a blast. I grew up on my grandparents farm in Oregon while we rode horses and played outside all of those sweet wonderful childhood memories came flooding back. I am so thankful that I was able to take Connor and tell him stories of spending time on the farm, and that he was able to really ride a horse. I am so thankful that Cherelle gave us this opportunity.
Connor and Liam going for a ride
Cherelle's sweet husband Brian helped the kids ride
 Connor and Azlyn
After leading the horses for the first couple rides Connor lead the horse for himself.
We had such a great time spending the day with some great friends. Connor loved riding and he already has asked when we can go again.

A Family Hike

This afternoon we went for a hike on Rocky Mouth Trailhead, it was a nice easy hike for Connor.
When you get to the end of the trail there is a small waterfall, unfortunately for us rather then a waterfall it was only a trickle of water, but we still had a great time hiking and spending time together as a family.

First Day of Preschool

Today was Connor's first day at Horizon preschool. As the picture shows he was so excited. The first day teacher Joy invited the moms to stay for class I told Connor that I was going to stay with him and his response was " Mom I am a big boy and big boys don't need their mom's to stay with them at school." It made me so sad but so happy that he is ready and excited to go to preschool. On Friday he gets to stay all by himself. I already cried this morning when he was getting ready for school I am sure Friday will bring more tears. It is definitely one of the happy sads, I want him to grow and learn and excel, but I wish he would stay my baby boy forever. Time is moving to fast.
Showing off his new backpack that he picked out
We were even lucky enough that Daddy got to leave work and take Connor to his first day of preschool
Poor boy he was so tired of taking pictures, but I don't ever want to forget these moments
Connor and his friend Azlyn getting ready to walk into preschool
Preschool started with fishing for letters
and then a blue furry friend came to visit the class
Connor loved him and was full of giggles and smiles
The rest of the day consisted of picking a bird with their name on it, making a bird house with three birds, playing with toys, and then snack and story time.
It was a great first day, Connor did great and is excited to go back on Friday.
