Soccer Week 1

This week was the first official week of the indoor season. Connor was excited to kick the ball, it is fun to watch all of the kids huddle around the ball.
We have really focused on basketball with Connor so he really didn't have much exposure to soccer before we started the season. This puts some explanation to the picture of him picking up the ball with his hands. The game went fairly well. We only had one problem during the game the ball went behind the goal and Connor wanted to get the ball and give it to the ref, the only problem was that so did one of his teammates. So it started with Connor getting pushed, so he pushed back, and then the other boy pushed Connor again so Connor took his hand and smacked him in the face of course the boy started crying the poor ref didn't know what to do since they were on the same team. The coach talked to both boys and Connor said he was sorry and all was well and the game resumed. It was a rough first game but we had many discussions about not using our hands in Soccer especially using them to hit others. Hopefully the talking helped we will have to see how next week goes.
